Mpumi, with over three decades experience in the insurance industry, has been with reputable companies such as Santam, Standard Bank, Alexander Forbes, Land Bank Insurance Services and Constantia Risk & Insurance. During his stay at these businesses, he played pivotal roles that covered business growth and what drives it, spearheaded innovation and led turnaround strategies, spanning twenty years.
His experience vastly covers aspects such as claims optimisations, customer centricity, financial capital optimisation, talent management and balanced scorecards that assist to execute strategy. Not only these, Mpumi has over the years proven his capability in leading strategy development, accompanied by interventions curated towards business growth and profitability.
Stakeholder management, through dialogue, is also one of Mpumi’s strong characteristics as he is aptly capable of seeing the benefit that perfectly suits both internal and external stakeholders.

Dirk joined Sasria SOC Ltd in May 2024 as Chief Financial Officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, public procurement, treasury, and corporate governance in both the public and private sectors.
He believes that any finance department is expected and should contribute meaningfully to the formulation and evaluation of corporate strategy, whilst supporting value-based decision-making. He has a keen interest in synthesis, utilising it to resolve complex business problems. Dirk’s extensive background and forward-thinking mindset are instrumental in enhancing the organisation’s financial framework and overall business strategy.

Dr Nolwandle Codelia Mgoqi

Dr. Nolwandle Mgoqi, CEO of Aon South Africa has over 25 years experience at senior executive level in South Africa’s insurance industry across long-term and short-term insurance sectors, as well as in Employee Benefits and Asset Management businesses. She is a highly driven leader with in-depth experience, with a passion for strategy development and execution, business and product development, sales distribution, marketing strategy and people development.
Nolwandle completed her undergraduate studies at Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, USA, and earned a Master of Science (MSc) from Howard University before obtaining her Ph.D. at Wits University. She also has a post Doctorate Fellowship from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Nolwandle has also completed a number of industry proficiency courses and is a Fellow of the IISA. She has also served in a number of industry committees and boards.

Additionally, he has substantial experience as a non-executive director, serving on various boards and sub-committees. Mantuka Maisela is a well-respected Professional Pension Fund Trustee and Human Resources Professional, who has contributed extensively in transformation within SA businesses as well as Pension Funds. Mantuka has served as a Board Member in various Companies in different sectors of the economy in both private and public sector. She has served as a Trustee and Specialist Adviser at the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, the second largest Pension Fund in the African Continent for 15 years. From 2017 till 2020 she was the Chairman of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, she was an Independent Specialist at the Government Employee Pension Fund (the largest pension Fund in Africa) for 10 years. She has been rewarded with Awards by the National Association of Security Professionals (USA), the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professional in South Africa, as well as the Transformation Action Forum for her involvement in Transformation of the Financial Sector and fostering relationship between South African and American Pension Fund. He is a past CEO of Gobodo Inc. and past President of the national board of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa. Refilwe Moletsane

Refilwe has 30 years’ experience in insurance. She served as Deputy CEO of the South African Insurance Association, where she was responsible for the insurance industry’s motor insurance, legal and compliance portfolios. She joined AIG South Africa in July 2010 as the Country Compliance Officer. In 2013, she was appointed as the Compliance Leader for Africa responsible for South Africa, Kenya and Uganda, and Middle East and Africa Regional Head of Compliance in 2018. She was also instrumental in the insurance industry’s legislation and regulations debates under the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee of Finance until June 2010. Before joining SAIA in 2007, Refilwe held various portfolios in Hollard Insurance.

He is the chairman of the board of directors of Bidvest Life and the AVBOB Mutual Society, and an independent director of the board of Sasria. He is also a major shareholder and chairman of Wealth Succession, a fiduciary, wills and estates advisory business. Jannie further provides business and actuarial consultancy services, working with both start-ups and established businesses.
Jannie gained in-depth understanding of bancassurance as the Managing Director of ABSA Life from 2011 to 2017, including the oversight of the life insurance business within the ABSA Group in Botswana, Kenya, Zambia and Mozambique. Prior to this, he spent some 18 years in various product and business development roles in both Liberty Life and Metropolitan Life (now part of the MMI group), mainly in the individual life insurance market.
Through these roles, he gained extensive experience having served on various boards and sub-committees as a past member of Council of the Actuarial Society of South Africa. He further served on industry associations in different capacities. This experience includes engaging both with regulators and competitors on various issues of mutual concern and interest.
